the perfect cup of coffee

the perfect cup of coffee
if it does exist must be ground,
brewed with the right equipment,
under the right temperature.
its taste must communicate
to all the senses and should be
of faultless color and opaqueness,
of pleasureable and boundless flavors,
and of an aroma of the precise intensity.
many people, regardless of time and place,
come in search of that perfect cup.
but beyond solely and soulfully brooding on its art,
the perfect cup of coffee binds people altogether.

thank u, xty, for the ad. :-)
yuh, its good to be back home...

when you're in town, make sure to drop by CAFE AROMA beside Ax's Restaurant along Bonifacio near the Rotary Rotonda going to Labangan (that humongous monument of 2 hands with palms facing upwards)

it's part-owned and managed by Potpot Manahan's sister. they serve hot or cold (brewed) coffee and tea and they also offer burgers and sandwiches on their menu with very affordable prices.

by the way, Potpot's responsible for the taste of some (if not all) of the coffee concoctions.

we were there last year: pot manahan, kiko camongol, joey valverde, maimai domingo, roy cornel (although at different times). we also saw and exchanged a few "hi's" and "hellos" with donna florescio, jose olano and wife, miko manguera and wife.

im sharing a couple of photos taken during that time.

there's
- kiko with the straw of his iced coffee peeping from the bottom;
- cafe aroma wall logo
- cafe aroma counter. it's a cozy place
- the wall menu of coffee and tea
- that's joey v, me and pot by the bar counter
